Winner of Best Artist in Kindergarten, Nina knows that accolades don’t always last long to impress everyone since her 2nd Grade teacher showcased to the class a bad example drawing of a turtle, which was her own. Making an experimental film in High School, she got a chance to compete as a finalist in the TIFF Jump Cuts Filmmakers Showcase. Her awkward pre-adult years were spent being a member of select groups on the TIFF Next Wave Committee and the BFI Future Film Academy.
In 2019, she graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London with a specialization in Theatre Design and Direction. While designing for plays and dance performances at the Platform Theatre, Nina has assisted London-based Theatre designers for productions at the Royal Court Theatre and the Regent’s Park Open Air Festival. A few selected abilities to include are weaving a wonky fruit basket with willow twigs and making it into a hat, using a light meter, costume fabrication, constructing wooden birdhouses, welding pieces of metal together, and making cups of tea from a year’s worth of experience working at a tea shop.
